Netarhat


NETARHAT is a famous tourist place in Latehar district of Jharkhand. Tourists visit Netarhat for its Sunrise Point (Magnolia Point). It is also known as “Queen of Chota-Nagpur”. It is a popular hill station and the nature is very generous to the place. Netarhat is located at 23.4833°N 84.2667°E, at a height of 1,071 metres (3,514 ft). 


It is a plateau covered with thick forest. Located in the Pat region of Chota-Nagpur Plateau; Netarhat plateau is about 4 miles (6.4 km) long and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) broad. It consists of crystalline rocks and has a summit capped with sandstone trap or laterite. The highest point is 3,696 feet (1,127 meters). It is located 156 kilometres (97 miles) west of Ranchi, the state capital.  It is 210 kilometres (130 miles) from Daltonganj.


Netarhat is famous for its glorious sunrises and sunsets during the summer months. Netarhat has several places of tourist interests including Magnolia Point (10 km from Netarhat, ideal site for viewing sunset). The upper Ghargri falls and the lower Ghagri falls are also another option. They are located around 10 km from the town center. Some of the other options are the Koel View point and the Lodh Falls. Sadni Falls is another option for a day trip and it is located around 35 km from the town. 

The town itself is a nice place to walk around and there are many small interesting places that one can visit. Most of the important places in the hill station are situated close to each and the best way to travel around the town is on foot. The hills are covered with a wide variety of fauna and are home to many species of animals. There are a few interesting sites that a traveler can visit in Netarhat.

  2. There are so many places to visit in Jharkhand -Chhattisgarh that you will probably not have the time to check out all the Chhattisgarh tourist places. Maa Danteshwari Temple, Lodh Falls, and Rani Dah Falls remain some of the all time favourites. I really love spending time there. Here are a few more places to visit in Chhattisgarh
